The weather was beautiful with a cool breeze coming off the ocean. Lydia took off her shoes to cross the beach and felt the warm sand under her toes. There were definitely worse places to search for suspects. She just hoped that she would be able to find Mrs. Baxter.

Eventually, her search was rewarded. She recognized the woman that she bought Sunny’s dog food from sitting under an umbrella. She was staring off toward the water and jumped when she finally noticed Lydia at her side.

“Oh, you startled me,” she said. “But it’s good to see you, Sunny’s owner.”
